St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The St. Kitts National Youth Parliament Association (SKNYPA) has announced the opening of nominations for the second cohort of the Ward-Hanley Scholarship and Mentorship Program.
SKNYPA says the scholarship aims to offer academic support with the provision of guidance and educational materials to each recipient as well as provides the awardee with a monetary package to purchase school supplies. Members and direct family of the members of SKNYPA are not eligible for the scholarship.
Students who are being nominated for the scholarship must have attained a term average of minimum 75 percent and must be an active member of a local community group. Proof of parent(s)/guardian(s) economic need along with two references, one being a teacher and the other a community group leader, are also required. Nominations close on August 06, 2021.
The scholarship which was inaugurated in September 2020 is named after the late Desmond Eli Ward and the Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, founding fathers and honorary members of the St. Kitts National Youth Parliament Association.
