(Trinidad Daily Express) – Former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo believes the region’s struggles on the international stage are rooted not in a lack of talent, but in a failure to evolve with the modern game.
And he says he will not become involved in West Indies cricket again, without being able to have a meaningful input.
Speaking on the Beard Before Wicket podcast with England’s Moeen Ali and host Nubaid Haroon, Bravo said West Indies cricket has been left behind because its structures, thinking, and facilities have remained largely unchanged for more than three decades while the rest of the world has adapted, invested, and modernised.
“The way how the cricket is run from an organisation point of view, it will always have these players versus board; players versus country, franchise, and these kind of things,” Bravo said.
He added that with, “the direction of where the sport is going now,” Caribbean cricket administrators, “cannot be stubborn in their thinking.”
