St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): As St. Kitts and Nevis gears up for the reopening of its borders, a new EC$500 ticket is being introduced to force compliance with the wearing of masks in public places.
New COVID-19 regulations announced Saturday (August 8), in the evening, included provisions for the EC$500 fine for people who refuse to comply with the mandatory wearing of face masks in public.
Failure to pay the fine within 10 days could result in a guilty party appearing in court to answer charges that could result in a fine, that’s ten times worst- a fine of EC$5000.
Police Superintendent Cromwell Henry, at Saturday evening’s NEOC briefing, explained the process and the impact of new regulations for days of restricted operations.
