NRP Leader Says Support From St. Kitts Shouldn’t Be The Only Income For Nevis

By Devonne Cornelius

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) — Dr. Janice Daniel- Hodge, Political Leader of The Nevis Reformation Party (NRP), says the subsistence from St. Kitts shouldn’t be the only means of revenue for Nevis.

The NRP leader, the first female to hold the top position in a political party in St. Kitts and Nevis, made that comment on the popular radio program “Tell Me” on 2020 vision radio on Thursday evening.

She further stated that she believes that politics is about putting yourself in a position to help others.

The former university professor also said the love her father, national hero and first premier of Nevis Sir Dr. Simeon Daniel had for Nevisians and wanting the best for Nevis, is also something that is very near and dear to her heart.

Dr. Daniel- Hodge became the first female political leader of the 50-year-old party, making history. The party also elected another female in the person of the Hon. Cleone Stapleton- Simmonds, member of parliament in the Nevis Island Assembly for St. Thomas’ constituency, as its deputy political leader.
