Officials Tightlipped About Alleged Cocaine Find on St Kitts

by Devonne Cornelius

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) — In an attempt to seek confirmation regarding allegations made about illegal drugs being imported into St. Kitts, WINN posed a question to a senior law enforcement official who indicated that an international investigation has since been launched into the matter but stopped short of providing any further details.

WINN also made attempts to ascertain more information about the joint operation that was carried out in Nevis last week Thursday night (March 04) but the top cop failed to provide specifics about the matter.

On Thursday, March 04, unconfirmed reports reached our news desk indicating that law enforcement officers seized an undisclosed quantity of cocaine on St. Kitts and component parts of a firearm on Nevis.

Mr. Adolph Adams, Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Operations confirmed that the Police carried out a joint search with other agencies and busted individuals with components parts of a firearm.

ACP Adams said he was unable to disclose any names as the investigation is still underway.

WINN will have more on this story as information becomes available.
