St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Attorney General Vincent Byron is offering details on the withdrawal of election petitions filed by the opposition St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP). Those petitions alleged misconduct in June 5 general elections and the party expressed confidence that the court would validate their claims.

Friday (July 31), news broke that the six election petitions were withdrawn from the court. Shortly after that information was circulated on social media, the SKNLP issued a press release stating “legal technicalities foils election petition cases”.

WINN reached out to SKNLP executives for clarification on the release but was unsuccessful at news time Friday. Efforts to reach the SKLNLP’s legal counsel also proved futile.

Friday afternoon WINN asked Mr. Byron about the six election petitions filed by the SKNLP.
