Orvis Pogson to serve two life sentences for the murder of Finch Sisters

by Kevon Browne

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Orvis Pogson was sentenced to whole life term for the murder of two sisters, Naomi Finch and Jimmyliah Finch, on October 19 2022.

On March 1, 2018, Orvis Pogson, 34 at the time, murdered 19-year-old Naomi Finch and 20-year-old Jimmyliah Finch.

Pogson pleaded guilty on April 12 to manslaughter (diminished responsibility), but the Director of Public Prosecutions at the time did not accept the guilty plea of manslaughter, and the matter proceeded to trial, where he was convicted for the double murder.

In July, Pogson was convicted after the jury returned a unanimous guilty verdict on both counts of murder.

Pogson was the boyfriend of the younger sister Naomi Finch.
