St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Paediatric League of St.Kitts and Nevis (PALS) conducted its latest initiative on the weekend, by ensuring that two Kittitian children received life saving surgeries at the Joseph N France General Hospital.
In a message to WINN FM, the organisation’s President Carolyn Chisolm said, PALS sponsored the travel of Dr. Colin Abel, Chief Surgeon of Bustamante Children’s Hospital in Jamaica to travel to St. Kitts to perform two critical surgical procedures. The surgeries were conducted on a 1-year-old and a four-year-old. Chisholm also confirmed that both surgeries were successful and the children are recovering nicely.
In an expression of gratitude, Chisholm said, “We truly appreciate Dr. Abel’s kindness and willingness to travel to St.Kitts to help these two young children. Also, special thanks to Dr. Cameron Wilkinson for his assistance in coordinating this initiative.”
Meanwhile, Chisholm explained to WINN FM that the identity of the children and their medical conditions will remain anonymous due to family preferences. She added that no additional financial assistance is needed for them at this time.
