St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Political Leader of the People’s Action Movement (PAM), the Hon. Shawn Richards is reiterating his stance on the possibility of PAM fielding candidates in all constituencies for the upcoming federal election.
“If it is necessary for the PAM to run candidates in each constituency then the PAM will run candidates in each constituency,” said Richards, adding that “we have supporters in all eight constituencies; persons who are willing to come forward. Even as we speak now, there are persons who have indicated an interest…”
Richards went on to state that he is aiming to be the country’s next Prime Minister.
“I have said quite publicly that I intend to be the next Prime Minister and indeed that is my intention. It is not something that I am backing away from and I stand resolute in terms of that particular intention.”
Political pundits have been purporting that there is turbulence within the construct of Team Unity which is comprised of the People’s Labour Party, the People’s Action Movement, and the Concerned Citizens Movement.
However, Deputy Prime Minister said, “I am committed to Team Unity and I still very much believe in the principles of Team Unity, however, I am also very cognizant that sometimes the political realities do change, and if the political realities do change, then the People Action Movement, likewise, will make the necessary changes.”
