St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Thirteen men and women will be participating in the senior pageants for the Nevis Culturama Festival; namely, the Ms. Culture Queen Pageant, Ms. Culture Swimwear Pageant, and the Mr. Kool Show.
The Culturama Committee held a “Reveal Party” on Saturday night (June 18), showing official videos of the contestants and participants and giving them an opportunity to introduce themselves on stage, before online and live audiences.
There will be four participants entering the Mr Kool Show; Dillon Smithen, sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Shenroy Joseph sponsored by the Nevis Culturama Committee, Dwayne Smith sponsored by the Nevis Tourism Authority and Rocco Browne sponsored by the Nevis Culturama Development Foundation.
The contestants for the Ms. Culture Swimwear Pageant are Shantel Leslie sponsored by the Nevis Solid Waste Management Authority, Melisa Gumbs sponsored by Stella’s Engineering, Sherquanya Jeffers sponsored by Caribbean Digital Display and Kelia English sponsored by FLOW.
In the Ms. Culture Queen Pageant, five ladies will be vying for the crown. Contestant number 1 is Sencia Williams sponsored by the Nevis Electricity Company. Shaleize Smithen, contestant number 2 sponsored by S.L Horsfords Company Limited, contestant number 3 Sharmarley Newton, sponsored by the St Kitts- Nevis- Anguilla National Bank, contestant number 4 Chalisa Parris sponsored by the Nevis Housing and Land Development Cooperation and contestant number 5, Rockelle Hendrickson sponsored by FLOW.
The Ms. Culture Swimwear Pageant and the Mr. Kool Show will be hosted together on Tuesday, July 26 at 8 pm, while the Ms. Culture Queen Pageant will be hosted on Sunday, July 31st at 8 pm. The events will be held at the Nevis Cultural Complex.
The core events for the Nevis Culturama Festival, themed the Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Lime will run from July 21 to August 2 2022. There are several pre-Culturama or fringe activities including Action Corner which is the Friday after work lime, Senior Kaiso and Soca Tents and the Nevis Mango Festival, amongst other things.
This year’s Culturama Festival will be held under the slogan, “Fete and Celebrate, Nevis Culturama 48.”
