St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Public events are canceled after a national, with no travel history, who works in the hospitality sector and is not vaccinated, contracted the COVID-19 virus.
Security and health officials are tracking people who may have had close contact with the latest confirmed COVID-19 patient ( at least 20 people have been traced and are now in quarantine) and have activated containment measures to prevent community spread of the virus.
So, what are the exact social events cancelled for the holiday weekend?
Police Superintendent Cromwell Henry explains.
Stiff penalties are in place for business owners, in particular, for breaches of COVID-19 protocols at their establishments.
With many people accustomed to heading to the beach to have a good time on weekends, especially holiday ones, the Superintendent warned that in an effort to reduce crowds, COVID-19 protocols would be enforced.
St. Kitts and Nevis had recorded 45 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with all patients fully recovered, until this latest case.
