St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Delegates of the People’s Action Movement gathered at the party’s headquarters on Wednesday, March 9 where they voted in a new executive.
The election for the new executive precedes the People’s Action Movement 57th National Convention, held under the theme “Keeping the Promise” this Sunday (March 13).
Following the elections, the Hon. Jonel Powell who ran unopposed retained his position as Party Chairman. Mr. Azard Gumbs now holds the post of Deputy Party Chairman, having previously served as the Assistant General Secretary. The new Assistant General Secretary is Danielle Warner. Mr. Charles Morton was re-elected as the party’s Treasurer, whilst Mr. Delwayne Delaney continues to serve as Public Relations Officer.
The delegates once again elected the Candidate for Constituency 8 the Hon. Eugene Hamilton and Candidate for Constituency 4 the Hon. Lindsay Grant as the party’s two Deputy Political Leaders.
Also preceding the Convention is the People’s Action Movement’s Bar Crawl this Saturday (March 12). The convoy will stop at various hang-out spots within the different communities, allowing the people to have direct engagement with candidates.
The event will begin in Constituency 5 at 11 a.m. and will continue towards the East to Constituency 4, then Constituency 3, 2, and 1 and culminate in Constituency 8, where presentations will be made.
The People’s Action Movement National Convention comes up this weekend Sunday, March 13 at Mary’s Park in Cayon, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
