St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The People’s Labour Party is gearing up for yet another Party Convention this month, with the hosting of several activities.
Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and Political Leader of the People’s Labour Party Dr. Timothy Harris, will chair the 6th annual National Convention under the theme “Delivering for the People.”
“Today is the start of lots of celebrations throughout this coming week and I look forward, definitely looking forward to welcoming all of you to the beautiful West Basseterre Constituency Number 3 for PLP’s Convention 2022,” said Hon. Akilah Byron Nisbett.
On Friday, March 25, the PLP Youths will host a Youth Concert at 7 pm at the Newtown Football Field. Byron-Nisbett promised an impressive and well planned show by the party’s youth.
Byron-Nisbett said, ” I know our PLP Youths have something very special in store. I have been listening to all of their planning activities and I’m looking forward to that event as well. As you know PLP, many persons as well say we have a good mix and there are quite a number of persons, young people in particular, who are part of the People’s Labour Party and so this event on the 25 is just for you; but, we want to make sure you get home on time, so that you are well rested to come with us on Saturday at the Patsy Allers Playing Field for Convention, so don’t work up yourself too much on the 25th because all of you must be present under the big orange tent on the 26th at the Patsy Allers Playfield.”
WINN FM spoke to Mr. Craig Tuckett, Director of Communications for the People’s Labour Party on Friday morning (March 18) who provided further details about the Youth Concert.
“We’re going to have a lineup of all local artists. We may have a signature and featured artist but we will keep that under wraps. The lineup will be announced later on as we get closer to the event and we endeavour to also give important information to the young people when they come out to this event. Wear something orange and you will see a great, great event.”
Tuckett added that all are encouraged to attend, “Whether you are young, not so young and especially if you are supportive of our young people and their talents, I think it is a great opportunity to come out and enjoy this event… there are prizes to be won as well and you never know, you might leave with something good.”
