Pierre awaits police probe before decision on Frederick’s Cabinet future

(St. Lucia Times) – Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre says he will wait for the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force to finish its investigation into allegations of misconduct against Housing Minister Richard Frederick before making any decisions about his future.

Frederick is currently on leave while police investigate allegations of misconduct related to unverified photos shared on social media. So far, police have not announced any charges, and the investigation is ongoing.

At Monday’s pre-Cabinet press briefing, Pierre made it clear that he would not be pressured into commenting on the matter before investigators complete their work.

“I’m making no statement on the Richard Frederick issue because the police are continuing their investigations, and I’m making absolutely no statement on it at this point in time,” he said.
