St. Kitts-Nevis (WINN) – On International Women’s Day, WINN puts the spotlight on Women and their contribution to the global community and the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis as captured in the following stories.

The United Nations acknowledges that women stand at the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis, as health care workers, caregivers, innovators, community organizers, and as some of the most exemplary and effective national leaders in combating the pandemic.

This year’s theme for the International Day,”Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”,

The crisis has highlighted both the centrality of their contributions and the disproportionate burdens that women carry.

St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris Monday afternoon (March 8) in a message to mark the day, said it was a day to pay tribute.

Dr. Harris said one of the reasons for the successful fight against COVID-19 was due to the leadership of women.

He said most of the frontline workers in the Federation were women.
