St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): People in St. Kitts and Nevis are being encouraged to work
from home where possible, engage in purchasing essential items online and avoid
unnecessary movements.
Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris announced some additional measures to aid in the
curb of Covid-19 within our communities.
“We want to encourage people to work from home as much as possible. That is,
individuals and institutions which have the capacity to do so, should be allowed to work
from home. This of course would reduce the numbers at the workplace. To the extent
people can, we want to encourage them to engage in online shopping over the next two
to four weeks. The benefit of this is that we will avoid overcrowding in our
supermarkets and other commercial spaces and this will help to contain the spread of
the deadly virus. We encourage essential movements only and these include grocery
shopping, going to seek medical care, going to the bank…we discourage liming and
partying…”
Prime Minister Harris was at the time speaking at the June 8 edition of Leadership Matters.
