PM Mottley calls on SIDS, African nations to demand more for their people

(Barbados Today) Prime Minister Mia Mottley is calling on Small Island Developing States (SIDS) as well as African nations to demand more for themselves and their people when it comes to the fight for climate justice.

Mottley delivered the 20th Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture at the Durban International Convention Centre in South Africa on Saturday.

She stressed that in the same way the former South African President Nelson ‘Madiba’ Mandela’s bold philosophy and teachings served as the blueprint in which a post apartheid South Africa was built on, so too must the world be serious now in their approach as the climate crisis continues to grow.
