St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Police are investigating what they describe as the “sudden death” of 56-year-old Alphonso Ezekiel Collins of St. Peters Village, who died in the Newtown area Saturday night, according to a press release issued close to 3:00 pm Sunday (Oct 4).
“Sometime after 6 pm on Saturday, the Police received a report of sudden death in Newtown. Upon arrival they found Collins’s motionless body inside a house at Pond Road, ” said the police.” Investigations so far have revealed that Collins had collapsed. The Emergency Medical Service (EMS) was called and he was unresponsive when examined by the EMS personnel.”
The District Medical Doctor arrived and pronounced him dead.
Members from the Forensic Department visited and processed the scene. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.”
The police statement comes in the wake of social media postings, including a widely circulated video, claiming that a man was stabbed to death in Newtown Saturday night (Oct 3).
Sunday’s police statement made no mention of any stabbing in the area or any suspicion of foul play in the death of Mr. Collins.
