Police Investigating A Homicide In Newtown

St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Police are confirming media reports of a homicide that reportedly occurred Saturday night in Newtown, St. Kitts.

Social media erupted Saturday night (October 3) with reports that a man was stabbed to death by one of two women in the area.

Police have confirmed the killing but have not offered any detail about the circumstances of the man’s death as of 2:00 pm Sunday (Oct4).

Editor’s Note

WINN published a news item on our website early Sunday afternoon (Oct 4) that stated police have confirmed a “homicide” in Newton. In fact, police confirmed a “death” in the area and not a homicide. Later on Sunday, a police press release stated that officers were investigating a sudden death in the area. There was no mention of a homicide in that statement. WINN apologies for the error in our earlier publication. A follow-up story on the death in Newtown is on our website. Our newscasts on Sunday and Monday on WINN 98.9 also offered details of the police report.
