St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Police are investigating an incident in which 26-year-old Tyrique Jones, a police officer on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison, was stabbed multiple times.

Superintendent Cromwell Henry told WINN on Friday, December 02 that Jones was “stabbed two days ago by a prisoner” and confirmed that the Criminal Investigation Department is currently investigating the matter.

Superintendent Henry said his wounds were not serious but could not confirm whether he was still in hospital or where about his body the wounds were inflicted.

Officer Jones was charged on October 28, 2021, for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The charges are concerning a previous report where 29-year-old Sylaine Phipps of Boyds Village was charged for the same offences after a Beretta PX4 Storm Pistol, and several rounds of .9mm ammunition were found in her possession during a security check on October 22, 2021, at the entrance of Dubai Nightclub and Lounge, a nightspot in Basseterre.
