ROSEAU, Dominica (CMC) – Police on Tuesday said they are awaiting the results of an autopsy on the body of a 48-year-old American that was found hanging in the cabin of a yacht last weekend.
The police said the unnamed yacht, which was owned and captained by Simon Elias of Washington, was anchored in the Caribbean Sea, about 75 feet from Castle Comfort, south of Roseau, Dominica.
They said the discovery of the body was made last Thursday and that Elias was pronounced dead at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital in Goodwill on the outskirts of the capital.
“His body is being kept at a funeral home pending an autopsy,” the police added.
