St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) – Many would have seen images and videos of a fire on a beach circulating locally.
The Fire was at Paradise Beach, a luxury collection of thirteen private villas and beach houses on Nevis, and the Hon Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley offered this report on the fire.
“The good news is that the fire was contained to a small structure which acted as the kitchen, the bar and restaurant. It was also open air; if you’ve been there, it’s the structure that is closest to the ocean. That structure was unfortunately completely destroyed. However, the good news, nobody was hurt; everybody was safe. The further good news is that the fire never got to any of the villas or any of the accommodations,” said Premier Brantley during his monthly press conference on November 25.
Although the main property of Paradise beach was unaffected, part of their business operations may suffer as the winter tourism season is getting in full swing.
“It is particularly sad because they are predicting a robust Christmas season; they have a lot of bookings. So this has come at a bad time,” said Premier Brantley.
The authorities have yet to confirm the cause of the fire at the time of writing this article.
