St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for St. Christopher 8, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, at today’s first sitting of the National Assembly of St. Kitts and Nevis, called on His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition to lend its support to the work of the country’s parliament.
“Madam Speaker, we look forward to a robust season of debates in this honourable house and a new era where timely bills are properly circulated among all stakeholders, duly passed and clearly explained to the general public at large, and how these laws and amendments can impact their lives. However, it is very clear to us on this side of the house that we cannot do it alone. Therefore, we invite the members of the opposition to play their part in bringing their thoughts, ideas, and support to the nation’s parliamentary business and processes,” Prime Minister Dr. Drew said.
His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition is led by the Honourable Member of Parliament for Nevis 9, Mark Brantley. The other members are Member of Parliament for St. Christopher 7 Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris; Member of Parliament for St. Christopher 5 Hon. Shawn Richards; Member of Parliament for Nevis 10 Hon. Eric Evelyn; Member of Parliament for Nevis 11 Hon. Alexis Jeffers; and Deputy Speaker Hon. Latoya Jones.
Today’s sitting will see the first and second readings of the Civil Aviation (Amendment) Bill, 2022, Public Health (Amendment) Bill, 2022, and St. Kitts Investment Promotion Agency (Amendment) Bill, 2022.
