St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The government is announcing plans to sell lands at reduced prices and is encouraging private sector investments in real estate.

Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris says property ownership is at the center of his administration’s efforts to create a stronger and a safer future for Kittitians and Nevisians.

” “Our first-time homeowner program has picked up again after a steep drop in April. This year’s applications have now exceeded last year’s figures for the year to date. We expect our residential construction sub-sector to remain buoyant. The Government $30 Million Mortgage Financing Programme certainly is an important intervention.”

He also added that the government had reduced the stamp duty for the “Citizenship by Investment” real estate market as an incentive to boost construction.
