St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): According to an article from the St Vincent Times, “a vessel which purportedly left St Vincent on Tuesday (October 4) en-route to the British Virgin Islands was allegedly held in St Kitts with illegal drugs.”

It is not clear if the crew of the vessel were Vincentians.

The report further stated that there were “allegations that authorities took several crew members into custody after the vessel was searched at Deep Water Port in Bird Rock, St. Kitts, and a large quantity of narcotics was purportedly discovered.”

Customs officials in St Kitts have yet to confirm the allegations.

WINN awaits the joint statement to be issued according to customs officials.

More on this as information becomes available.
