St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Deputy Prime Minister Shawn Richards retains the top spot as leader of the People’s Action Movement(PAM) in elections held Sunday in caucus at the party’s headquarters in Basseterre.
In his address to delegates at the PAM’s Convention, held for the first time in Sandy Point, Mr. Richards paid tribute to the party’s founders and stalwarts including Sir Kennedy Simmonds, a national hero, first prime minister, and a former leader of PAM.
To the issue of the coalition’s candidate for prime minister should it prove successful at the next general election, Mr. Richards declared that he had kept his end of the bargain for Dr. Harris to serve two terms as prime minister, even though his party won the majority of seats in general elections in 2015 and 2020.
