RSCNPF informs motorists traffic restrictions for Carnival Season

St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Traffic Department of the Royal St.Christopher and Nevis Police Force informs the general public of the following traffic restrictions effective Wednesday, December 21 2022.

Traffic flowing west southwards on west Independence Square Street will be permitted to make the right turn onto the Bay Road which is in the vicinity of Horsford’s Showroom and Ashley’s Furniture Store.

Also effective Wednesday, December 21 until January 05 2022, no private vehicles will be permitted to park on the southern side of Liverpool Row in the vicinity of Karibhana and Ashbury’s, due to the area being the temporary parking spot for Tour operators on duty.

 

As of Midnight Friday, December 23 until midday Sunday, December 25, traffic will be restricted on the Bay Road in the area between the old Treasury Building and the vicinity of the Social Security Building or College Street Ghaut. The restriction will be in place to facilitate Carnival activities in that area.

Traffic Restrictions are in place for the Bliss Concert and the Cooler Fetewhich will be hosted at Conaree Candyland. The police informed that no vehicles are permitted to park on the Island Main Road during the hosting of such functions.

In addition, Bank Street will be closed from vehicular traffic effective December 21 2022 until January 05 2023.

The Traffic Department is advising drivers to adhere to the restrictions that have been arranged, as they are to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of all road users.
