St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) — Videos are making the rounds on social media which shows officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) tussle with a man who has been identified as Malvern Walwyn of Hardtimes Village, Gingerland Nevis.

One of the videos shows officers of the police force stripping Walwyn of all of his clothing leaving him totally naked.

In another video, it shows Walwyn lying face down in a drain with a police officer attempting to restrain him by standing on his back. Walwyn repeatedly said “I can’t breathe”, however, the officer did not move.

Superintendent Lyndon David of the Nevis Division of the Police Force told WINN Saturday morning (February 06) that they are currently carrying out an investigation into the matter.

“Yes, we are familiar with the video, and we are carrying out our investigations to see what exactly took place, and then we will take the appropriate actions from there”.

Superintendent David said the Internal Affairs Department (Office of Professional Standards) has been made aware of the incident, and they will proceed with their investigation.

WINN will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
