St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Ryan Powell, 22, of Fountain Village, was charged with “Causing Death by Dangerous Driving”.
The accident occurred on July 27 and led to the death of 21-year-old Natalya Roberts of Cherry Garden.
Powell was charged on Thursday, August 4, 2022, and is currently in Police custody.
According to the Autopsy results, Roberts died from a head injury caused by the fatal accident.
As stated by the authorities, the particulars of the accident indicated that Powell was travelling towards Cotton Ground when he lost control and overturned on the island’s main road.
The jeep was extensively damaged. The driver suffered injuries and was transported to the Alexandra Hospital via the Emergency Medical Service. He was treated and released from the hospital.
The St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services had to be called to extricate Roberts, who was in the front passenger seat. The 21-years-old was pronounced dead at the scene by the District Medical Officer.
The autopsy report concluded that Robert’s died from a severe traumatic head injury caused by the accident.
