St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) – Daughter of the soil, Tiandra Francis, has gone to New York City to participate in a culinary internship with Chef Pino Luongo.
Francis is the second student to participate in this internship program by way of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority (SKTA), with Chef Pino following Haile Primus in 2022.
To continue enhancing the culinary experience of the Federation’s tourism product, the SKTA is investing in the nation’s youth, which, according to the tourism body, is a critical element of its plan to boost tourism and promote sustainability.
Joanne Bedminister, Human Resources and Operations Manager in the SKTA, spoke about the journey the body has embarked on to grow the culinary industry in the Federations, including Haile Primus’s 2022 experience and Tiandra Francis’s journey to New York to expand her culinary skills.
Additionally, the SKTA has partnered with Chef Pino Luongo, Candice Kimmel, and the culinary division at Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College to work on expanding the culinary industry in St. Kitts and Nevis.
With continued support from the culinary expertise of Luongo and Kimmel, the Authority has created a transformative experience for these future culinary experts in St. Kitts and Nevis.
