Seven women on Nevis receive funding to start up or advance their businesses

St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Seven young women who were enrolled in the Beauty Entrepreneurship Seminar on Nevis have officially received funding to begin or advance their entrepreneurship journey as beauticians. The recipients will be engaged in business development counselling with counsellors, which will include business training and topics to help to guide them.

The seven recipients include Joyelle Phillip, Shaquoya Flanders, Tanisha Henrickson- Browne and Leosha Wyatt. WINN FM News requested the names of the other three ladies but was unsuccessful.

The Taiwan ICDF Women’s Employment, Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion Project in collaboration with the Nevis Island Administration and the Small Business Development Centre Nevis hosted the Beauty Entrepreneurship Seminar from May 09th to May 20th 2022.

Participants learnt about the business of beauty and also techniques and trends from a group of individuals with academic and industry expertise. Some of the facilitators include Mrs Nneka Ali and Sherry Gajor. The sessions include massage therapy, make-up application, as well as nail care- manicure and pedicure session.

The seminar ended on a successful note, where women of various age ranges were able to advance their beauty techniques.

The Women’s Entrepreneurial Business Development Counselling is open for submissions from June 8 to June 22.
