Shakel Campbell is St. Kitts and Nevis’ 10th homicide for 2023

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): A statement from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police confirms that a report was received about shots being fired in the Craddock Road area at about 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday, May 03, 2023. 

Upon arrival at the scene, police say the body of Shakel Campbell, 27, was discovered sitting upright and motionless in his car parked in his yard.

“Further examination of Mr. Campbell revealed that he had been shot several times about his body by [an] unknown assailant(s). He was pronounced dead at the scene and subsequently transported to the Alexandra Hospital morgue. The Forensic Services Unit processed the scene and the immediate environs and collected all items of evidential value. An investigation into the matter is ongoing,” the statement said. 

The police used the opportunity to denounce violence in St. Kitts and Nevis and encourage citizens and residents to exercise restraint and seek out peaceful solutions to the issues and problems that are an unavoidable aspect of life.
