Shark Attack Victim Brook Toussaint Released from Hospital

St. Kitts-Nevis (WINN) – The sighting of sharks in the country’s waters took on a new dimension after a student was rescued after being bitten by a Tiger Shark.

Final year Ross University student Brook Toussaint, as with a group of seven individuals swimming and kayaking near Booby island at about 10:25 a.m. on Jan. 9 when she was bitten by a shark.

One of the individuals called 911, the coast guard was dispatched and she was rushed to the Alexandria Hospital in Nevis.   

She was later flown to Houston Texas where her leg was later amputated. Her sister Paige started a GoFundMe account for medical expenses.

Wednesday (Jan. 20), she posted that Brook was “finally released from the hospital”.
