Sixteen athletes represent St. Kitts Nevis at 49th Carifta Games this weekend in Jamaica.

Basseterre, St. Kitts; Press Release; (St. Kitts and Nevis Athletics) – Sixteen athletes will be representing St. Kitts Nevis at the 49th Carifta Games hosted in Jamaica this weekend. 

The 49th staging of the CARIFTA Games will be held at the National Stadium in Kingston from April 16 – 18, 2022. 

The official delegation includes athletes from both St. Kitts and Nevis and a few collegiate athletes studying in the United States. 

Ms Azurdee Phillip is the team manager, and Mr Hugh Matthew is the head coach. Phillip and Matthew are joined by Mr Damon Bacchus, General Secretary of St. Kitts and Nevis Athletics (SKN Athletics) and Mr Dwayne Warner, Vice President of SKN Athletics. 

The CARIFTA Games is an annual sporting event that features many different athletic competitions. The competitions include track & field, middle distance track competitions, sprint races, hurdle races, and many jumping, throwing and relay events.

The Games are split into two age categories, Under 17 and Under 20, with 27 countries participating this weekend.

The SKN – Athletics ask the general public to send best wishes to the athletes competing this weekend.
