In observance of the recently passed Breast Cancer Awareness month, the St. Kitts International Academy (SKI Academy) raised and donated funds to the Essence of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation here in St. Kitts and Nevis.
In the Federation, there is an average of fifty-five deaths each year attributed to a variety of cancers, and an average of four of those to breast cancer. While four may seem like a small number, four is four too many for our population of fifty thousand, and the SKI Academy student body wanted to play their part in doing what they can for those affected by breast cancer in our beautiful twin island.
The SKI Academy Student Council handed over the funds to Mrs. Lizbeth Burrell of the Essence of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.
