St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): A new curfew has been instituted in St. Kitts and Nevis commencing Tuesday, June 08, 2021, from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. every day for the next two weeks in the first instance.

Health Minister Akilah Byron-Nisbett, while speaking at the June 07 NEOC press briefing, said the cabinet took the decision to extend the curfew in light of the current situation of community spread being experienced.

In addition to the new curfew implemented, the National Covid-19 Task Force and the Police have implemented a number of restrictions to curb the spread of the virus.

Public transportation via land and sea has been reduced to 50 percent capacity; restrictions on hosting, playing, or attending any contact sporting events and the closure of all public and private schools in the Federation are among the new measures in place. All businesses in St. Kitts and Nevis are required to close at 7:00 p.m. to allow sufficient time to adhere to the new curfew in place commencing Tuesday, June 08, 2021, for the next two weeks.

Superintendent of Police Cromwell Henry called on the public to adhere to the new measures aimed at containing the spread of Covid-19.
