Basseterre, St Kitts — On Sunday, 18th October, 2020, a group of football coaches assembled at Football House to establish the St Kitts-Nevis Football Coaches Association, and elect its second executive committee. Mr Stephen Clarke was elected president, along with six (6) other persons to serve in various offices.
The afternoon began with a formal opening ceremony. The ceremony was attended by several coaches from around the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Amongst the coaches and media, Jeffery Hazel, Technical Director of The St. Kitts Nevis Football Association, was also in attendance. Kevin Hope, member of the association, chaired the event. In his remarks, Hope applauded the efforts to form this Association. He also encouraged the group to remain steadfast in their objectives because they could be very impactful for present and future coaches. He also pledged continued support to the group and urged them to continue fighting on despite any obstacles.
Inspired by the guest presenters, the coaches moved quickly to elect the inaugural executive committee of the newly formed St Kitts-Nevis Football Coaches Association, whose primary objective is to promote the development of football coaches in St Kitts-Nevis. The election of Mr. Stephen Clarke to the presidency augurs well as he brings to this office his combined youthful vibrance and experiences as a former national football player and youth national coach.
