St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Federation recorded its first confirmed death from COVID-19, as announced by the Minister of Health, signaling that the stark reality confronting the rest of the world is now at our doors.
Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased on Thursday (June 17).
“It is indeed a sad day for all of us here in St. Kitts and Nevis after learning that the dreaded coronavirus has claimed the life of one of our citizens. As Prime Minister, I express my profound condolences to the family and loved ones. I also wish to assure the family that my thoughts and prayers are with them at this very difficult time,” Prime Minister Harris said.
In a short message on his Facebook page, Premier Mark Brantley also extended his condolences to the family of the individual.
The Nevis Reformation Party shared a statement Thursday night (June 17) on its Facebook page.
“The Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) extends condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time.”
The statement urged adherence to the COVID-19 prevention and control measures and encouraged people to seek medical advice from their doctor regarding their eligibility for the AstraZeneca vaccine.
