St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) – The Department of Creative Economy was officially launched on July 28 at Port Zante, Basseterre.
The launch of this department is instrumental in providing an official government department and, thus, a space where creatives can be provided with opportunities to showcase and market their talents within the local, regional and international Orange economy and catapulting the Federation as a viable partner in the sector.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Creative Economy, Ms Valencia Syder, reiterated why creating avenues for people in the creative economy was necessary.
During the Roundtable and July 21, Prime Minister Hon. Terrance Drew reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making the creative industry in the Federation a viable, thriving economic driver.
The launch of the Creative Economy feature acts from various homegrown talents, including Dejour, iMark, EBJ Harmonice, a spoken word piece by Assitant Secretary in the reactive economy and playwright Keisha Isaac, Calypsonian Miss Independent (Karisia Willett) and more.
