St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Hon. Dr Terrance Drew, participated in a high-level meeting in New York for the 78th United Nations General Assembly Session.
During a meeting on Universal Health Coverage, themed “Expanding Our Ambition for Health and Well-Being in a Post-COVID World,” Dr Drew delivered the CARICOM response to the meeting’s topic as Lead Head with responsibility for Human Resource Development, Health, and HIV/AIDS in the CARICOM Quasi Cabinet.
The meeting brought together leaders, policymakers, and healthcare experts and was convened to address universal health coverage issues and to reinvigorate progress towards delivering health for all.
The meeting sought to ensure implementation, accountability, and the need for an action-oriented outcome to push the 2019 Political Declaration further, focusing on creating resilient and equitable health systems with primary health care as a foundation.
