St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): St. Kitts and Nevis has a new confirmed case of COVID-19, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 16, with 15 recovered cases.
Minister of Health Akilah Byron-Nisbett informed the nation, at close to 4:30 pm Saturday of the development which comes some 70 days after the Federation had not recorded a confirmed case and was declared COVID- free.
“The patient is a returning national who landed on June 19, 2020, from Washington, USA. The patient has been in quarantine since arrival, ” the minister announced.
Ms. Byron said the unidentified patient would now be placed in isolation in order to limit the likelihood of transmission to others.
“The distribution of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Federation are now as follows: 12 on St. Kitts and 4 on Nevis, said Byron- Nisbett while reminding the public of COVID- 19 guidelines.
Minister Byron also reminded the public that the ministry of health was the official source of information about COVID-19.
