St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The St. Kitts- Nevis Robotics Association is heading to Geneva, Switzerland to compete in the ‘First Global Robotics Olympics Challenge’ slated for October 13-16, 2022.
The St. Kitts- Nevis Robotics Association will be represented by Anthony Lee, Malyka Howell, Yakira Elliot, Lakshya Sharma and team captain, Patrina Perreira. The team’s mentor is Dr. Ricardo Neil. Neil said in the bio profile that the team is excited to participate in the upcoming event.
“The St. Kitts and Nevis Team is a part of the First Global Robotics Olympics and we here at St.Kitts are actually excited about that. We do expect the team to perform extremely well and we’re grateful for First Global for making us a part of this year’s competition.”
St. Kitts and Nevis Robotics Team met with the Prime Minister the Hon Dr. Terrance Drew and the Hon. Konris Maynard, Minister of Information, Communications, and Technology earlier this week, where they discussed the Robotics Competition, the expectations from this year’s Olympics and the Robotics association’s vision, mandate, and plans for the future.
The St. Kitts Nevis Robotic Team is ranked number one in the Caribbean and 19th in the world. The team will be competing against other young people from more than 180 nations.
First Global in a press release said the competition “provides an opportunity for young people across the globe to leverage the power of technology, use their knowledge and abilities, and cooperate to collectively tackle the planet’s most pressing challenges.”
