(Press Release) SKNCIC salutes and recognizes the contribution of all of our Women in Saint Kitts and Nevis, our changemakers, doers, leaders, and visionaries who are paving the way for a better future for all.

March 8 marks this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD 2022), a global day celebrating women’s achievements in cultural, social, economic, and political advancements. It also stands as a pledge for gender parity and equal opportunity for women.

With the World Economic Forum’s 2021 Global Gender Gap Report findings telling us that as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be felt, closing the global gender gap has increased by a generation from 99.5 years to 135.6 years.

The theme for IWD 2022 is, “Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, recognizing the contribution of women and girls around the world, who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response, to build a more sustainable future for all.
