St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Leader of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party, Dr. Terrence Drew, is voicing his opinion on the dissolution of Parliament and the dismissal of the six former Ministers of the People’s Action Movement and the Concerned Citizen’s Movement.
The Candidate for Constituency No. 8 said that liberation day is fast approaching, referencing the impending snap election the Federation has been thrust into after differences of opinion on the Team Unity construct made up of PAM. CCM and the Peoples Labour Party, led by Prime Minister the Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris.
“God has set our nation on the rightful path to liberation after seven long years of oppressive government, seven long years of scandal after scandal, seven long years of tarnishing our country’s reputation, several long years of promising a new Basseterre High School, a new JNF and good governance, seven long years of no integrity in public life, no freedom of information, seven long years of draining our treasury, draining our Social Security, seven long years of discord, misappropriation of funds, corruption and greed, seven long years of putting you the people last,” said Dr. Drew in an address to the nation on May 11.
A snap election is on the horizon for the Federation and the SKNLP Leader, whose party has already announced their full slate of candidates, reminds the people that every vote counts.
“We owe it to our children to correct the wrong with the power of the vote. I urge all eligible voters to ensure your names are on the voters’ list and that your IDs are up to date. In this upcoming election, we are fighting for the very soul of our democratic and peace-loving country.”
