St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN) – As part of commemorations for the 40th anniversary of the Federation Independence on September 19, the St. Kitts Tourism Authority (SKTA) set out to show some St. Kitts and Nevis Pride throughout September by highlighting some parts of our cultural heritage.
In a video series released on social media, the tourism body spoke with cultural experts and contributors to some of our quintessentially Kittitian cultural heritage, including the national wear, flag and dish.
Retired Director of Culture Creighton Pencheon reminded us of the significance of the National Flower, Poinciana and the National Bird, the Brown Pelican.

General Surgeon Dr. Joylette Woodley Fassale, one of the designers of the national wear, spoke of the journey of creating the national wear for St. Kitts and Nevis.
