(Trinidad Guardian) The soca fraternity is rallying around one of their own, Blaxx (Dexter Stewart) who is critically ill in hospital and facing mounting medical bills.
The ‘D All Stars’ lead vocalist, whose hits include ‘Leh Go’, ‘Hulk’ and ‘Breathless’, is currently being treated at a private hospital for fluid in his lungs. He had previously been warded for three weeks at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.
His health challenges became known after DJ and entertainer Dawg E Slaughter set up an accpount to raise funds for his mounting medical expenses. Among the first to respond was Machel Montano who posted a video on Instragram appealing to fans to donate to the account.
He said: “Today I would like to join a call to support our brother Blaxx on his journey to recovery. Blaxx, we in the soca fraternity, friends and fans, we stand in support of you at his time,”
