Bay Road, Basseterre, St. Kitts (September 30, 2026): The St. Christopher and Nevis Social Security Board (SSB) is issuing a stern warning to the public regarding the falsification, alteration and misuse of Social Security cards.

The Board is aware that falsified Social Security cards, including cards that may have been digitally or artificially generated, are currently in circulation and may be presented for identification, employment or other purposes.

The Social Security Board emphasizes that a Social Security number is uniquely assigned to an individual and must not be borrowed, shared, misrepresented or used by another person. Likewise, creating, possessing, presenting or using a fraudulent Social Security card or document is a serious matter.

The Board is actively taking steps to identify and address instances of fraudulent documentation and misuse.

The Board further reminds employers, institutions and members of the public to exercise due diligence when accepting Social Security documentation and to report suspected fraudulent activity through the appropriate channels.

Authentic Social Security cards contain the following features:

  • Social Security (SSB) logo
  • Individual Full name
  • Unique Six‑digit Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Height
  • Nationality
  • Issue and expiry dates
  • Signature
  • Additional embedded security elements

The Social Security Board remains committed to protecting the integrity of the Social Security system and ensuring that Social Security records and benefits are properly attributed to the individuals to whom they belong.

If you are uncertain about the authenticity of a Social Security card, please contact Customer Relations at 869 465 2535, 469 5245, or via mobile at 869 662 8279 or 669 5245 for verification and guidance.

The Social Security Board reaffirms its commitment to protecting insured contributors and thanks the public for its vigilance and continued support.
