St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Twenty-three people are currently in hospital due to coronavirus disease.

That information was revealed by Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr. Cameron Wilkinson during the COVID-19 Press Briefing on October 06, 2021.

“We have a total of 23 hospitalizations. Four are in Nevis and 19 are in St. Kitts. There are currently no patients on the ventilator however of the 19 that are in St. Kitts, three are very ill.

Dr. Wilkinson used the opportunity to encourage people in St. Kitts and Nevis to get vaccinated as it decreases their risk of becoming severely ill.

St. Kitts and Nevis is currently administering the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine to people 18 years and older, and the Pfizer vaccine to children ages 12 to 17. These vaccines are being administered at all health centres across St. Kitts and Nevis.
