St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The COVID-19 virus claimed its 33rd victim in St. Kitts and Nevis on Tuesday, January 25. According to the national COVID-19 situation report, another individual lost their life in the past 24 hours to the virus.
Tuesday’s situation report also shows that there are 553 active cases; 28 of which were confirmed within the previous 24 hours.
There has been a total of 5 331 cases recorded in sister isles since March 2020; 4 539 cases on St. Kitts and 792 in Nevis. Of the total confirmed cases, 4 745 have recovered.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health continues its vaccination program dubbed ‘Roll-Up 2 Roll Out’. Approximately 82% of the adult population has received a first dose of a COVID-19 approved vaccine, while 76.4 % has received a second dose. 8.1 percent of the adult population received a booster shot.
In the case of children aged 12- 17 years, 17.8 percent have received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 16.3 percent have received a second dose.
In total, 25 980 persons in the Federation are fully vaccinated.
