St. Kitts and Nevis to Access Vaccines from the COVAX Facility and Other Sources

by Kevon Browne

St. Kitts-Nevis (WINN) – St. Kitts and Nevis has acknowledged that it is not relying solely on the COVAX facility to get vaccines for the population.

COVAX stands for COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access, a global initiative aimed at equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines led by the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, and others.

Medical Chief of Staff of the Joseph N France General Hospital Dr. Cameron Wilkinson.

Grenada’s Minister of Health Nickolas Steele recently announced on February 10 that regional governments will procure additional vaccines from India and African nations. Both Barbados and Dominica have declared that they will share AstraZeneca vaccines, sourced from India, with St. Kitts and Nevis and other OECS member states.
